Privacy Policy — Masyu

Masyu (the “App”, the “Game”) is a loop logic-puzzle game developed by Birkin Apps (“we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, why, and your choices. Masyu does not require an account — play is anonymous.

Summary

• We do not collect your name, email, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or health data.
• No account and no social login.
• We use an advertising ID only to show and measure ads (this counts as “tracking”).
• Anonymous analytics events help us improve the puzzles.
• Your puzzle progress is stored on your device — there is no cloud save.

Data we collect and why

1. Device identifier / advertising ID

On iOS, your IDFA is used only if you grant permission via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT). On Android, your Advertising ID (GAID) is used. Purpose: to serve and measure ads through Google AdMob. This is considered tracking.

2. Product interaction / analytics

Events such as puzzle completion, hint usage, and the purchase flow are recorded via Firebase Analytics together with an app-instance identifier. These events are not linked to your name or identity and are not used for tracking.

3. Purchase history & entitlements

Payments are processed by Apple StoreKit / Google Play Billing — we never see or store your payment-card data. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage your entitlement (e.g., the one-time “remove ads / unlock” product) across reinstalls, using a random anonymous app user ID. RevenueCat receives purchase receipts and this anonymous ID, never your name or payment details.

4. On-device settings and progress

Your solved puzzles, streaks, and settings (language, theme, sound) are stored locally on your device using shared_preferences and are not uploaded anywhere. There is no cloud save; uninstalling the App deletes them.

Data we do NOT collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or health data. There is no social login and no user account.

Third parties (sub-processors)

• Google — AdMob (ads), Firebase Analytics, Google Play Billing. Privacy: policies.google.com/privacy
• RevenueCat — purchase validation and entitlement management. Privacy: revenuecat.com/privacy
• Apple — StoreKit / App Store. Privacy: apple.com/legal/privacy

Advertising/measurement domains used: googleadservices.com, doubleclick.net, googlesyndication.com, google-analytics.com, app-measurement.com.

Your choices & rights

• App Tracking Transparency (iOS): you may decline tracking when prompted. The game works fully without it — you will simply see non-personalized ads.
• Ad personalization: you can reset or limit your advertising ID in device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising; Android: Settings → Google → Ads). Where required, a consent prompt (Google UMP) lets you manage personalized ads.
• GDPR (EEA/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California): you have rights to access, delete, and object to processing. Because the only server-side data is tied to anonymous identifiers, contact us (below) so we can locate and delete it.

Data deletion

To request deletion of analytics or entitlement data linked to the App’s anonymous identifiers, email support@birkinapps.com. You can delete all local data by uninstalling the App.

Children

Masyu is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If a user is under 13 (or the applicable age in your region), advertising will not be personalized and analytics is restricted, in line with COPPA and GDPR-K.

Store privacy disclosures

Consistent with Apple’s App Privacy and Google Play’s Data Safety, we declare: Device ID (advertising; used for tracking), Product Interaction (analytics), Purchase History (app functionality).

Changes

We may update this Policy; the “Last updated” date reflects the latest version.
