Accessibility — Pegfall

Last updated: September 30, 2026

Pegfall can be played with a screen reader. This page says what works, what has been tested and what is not supported yet.

Screen readers

  • VoiceOver on iPhone and iPad: supported. Tested on iPhone by blind players, and shaped with an accessibility tester, Matheus Rheine. Not yet tested by hand on iPad.
  • TalkBack on Android: supported. It is newer and has had less testing than VoiceOver. If something is hard to reach, please tell us.

How screen reader play works

  • Accessible play turns on by itself while a screen reader is running. You can change it in Settings > Accessible play.
  • The board is built around one Aim control, with Status, Board summary and Last result next to it.
  • On the Aim control you move through five named directions, from Far left to Far right, and hear where the shot would first hit. After the first hits, physics decides, and the game tells you when bumpers or bouncing walls can change the path.
  • Double-tap to fire. When the balls stop, you hear the damage and what is left on the board.
  • Board scan reads the board from top to bottom. On iPhone, Magic Tap (two-finger double-tap) starts it while aiming and a second Magic Tap stops it. On Android it is an action on the Aim control.
  • Optional aim sounds and an Aim practice lesson, whose practice shot costs nothing, help you learn.
  • Menus, the Workshop and the Shop read every item as one sentence: what it is, its price and its state. Purchases are confirmed with a short sound and speech.

Ads with a screen reader

  • Rewarded ads are always optional.
  • While Accessible play is on and a screen reader is running, an interstitial ad can appear at most once every three minutes, and only after a button you press (Descend or Next chapter). Never during play, and never when a run ends.
  • Before the ad you hear “Ad starting. Find its Close button to leave it.” and after it “Ad closed.” The game waits until then.
  • The Remove Ads purchase removes interstitial ads for good.
  • If you get stuck in an ad, write to us. We can switch these ads off for screen reader players without an app update.

Other accessibility features

  • The default look is a dark interface. Text contrast is measured against the surfaces the text sits on.
  • Special pegs are marked by shape, not only by colour.
  • Reduce Motion is respected: shake, bounce and looping animations stop, while the information they carried stays.
  • Play is turn-based, one-handed and in portrait.

Not supported yet

  • Larger Text: text follows your size setting only up to 1.3 times, because the display does not fit beyond that.
  • Voice Control has not been tested.
  • Captions and audio descriptions do not apply: the game has no spoken or video content.
